Ho degli amici francesi che si occupano di sicurezza informatica; dopo il successo ottenuto nella commercializzazione dei loro prodotti, hanno deciso di buttarsi mani e piedi nel WiFi. Nel loro ultimo comunicato stampa si legge una ferma e decisa volontà di entrare in un mondo che già conoscono, ovvero quello del “Wireless-Friendly”.

1. The WIFI
The WIFI – Wireless Friendly -is a technology of access to networks IP.The data do not transit any more through cables, but through wave’s radio. This technology can be installed by everyone at home, via a ADSL / WIFI connection , be accessible from Hot Spots, or in the company to facilitate collaborative work without installing cables. The main interest of the WIFI is that it is killing the notion of cabling, and therefore gives everyone the ability to reach Internet since various points of access: Hot Spots. The WIFI allows offering to the users a bigger mobility.The WIFI is the resultant of an increasing demand in term of mobility. France estimates the number of Hotspots installed at 20 000 by the end of 2006. The main stake remains the security of the data today. In a world where the mobility is growing: the users can gain access to their personal data from any point of the globe.
The mobility generates an exchange of information which does not stop growing, this information must be protected, and most of the companies already integrated a protection of the accesses by an authentication of the users, a protection of the data by a management of the threats (virus, spyware, and so on).
Wireless Networks of course exceed the geographic frame of the company or its buildings. They are going to allow the customers, employees, suppliers, partners to reach a server: exchange, transfer of information. This information must be protected not to prevent compromising data exchanges and to be and the transmission of messages not authorized on the network. The main objective is to reassure “the front door” between the outside world and the company
